I’m Roni Loren. I write books. And I’m tired.
They say we teach best what we most need to learn. Well, after more than a decade of being a full-time published author, I have realized that what I most need to learn is how to get back to that creatively indulgent place where I wrote just for the joy of it, where I could relish the process and not focus on the outcome, where my muse (and my health) was nourished and full and not scrambling for scraps in between deadlines.
So, I’m starting this newsletter to share that journey in case it’s helpful to anyone else. I have a hunch I’m not alone…
What to expect…
Posts about the writing life, writer health (mental and physical), quotes worth thinking about, and some muse food (book recs, TV/movie recs, music, etc.)
Warning: This will not be a newsletter about how to sell a million books or how to increase your word count or how to get an agent or how to quit your day job and write full-time. There are many people teaching those things already if that’s what you’re looking for. Here, we’re just going to hunt down writing joy. . .and maybe take a nap on occasion.
